What Customers say:

The order was for a supply only kitchen in Lincolnshire. The client had been looking for a kitchen for some time and required a survey to establish a viable layout and a comprehensive list of items so that they could fit the kitchen themselves with the aid of some local craftsmen.

A visit was arranged, survey paid for and done, layouts were emailed and confirmed and the kitchen ordered and delivered 3 weeks later.
The client was so impressed with the kitchen that she wrote to the suppliers to comment.

Just wanted to say how much we love our new Melissa kitchen it looks fantastic !!

Thanks to Ken Johnson @ Fitted Kitchens Direct

I know that our kitchen would look fantastic in your new brochure, it will show off the high quality units to their full potential, and give the Melissa range the profile that it deserves !!

It has been designed it to be a traditional cream country kitchen with a contempory feel, pewter handles, black gloss worktop, all complimented with a backdrop of English Mist colour !!

I am sending Ken some good digital photo’s as soon as it is finished and dressed.

Regards

Dawn in Lincolnshire

The order was initially for a supply and fit kitchen in Windermere. The client had purchased a new property that was to be used as a holiday home. Having looked at the ranges that we had to offer and made an initial selection we went to the home to survey and find out if we could achieve the clients ambitions in what was a very small kitchen.

The solution agreed was to take down an intermediate wall between it and the dining area and so open up the area and create a lighter area. Valerian was chosen and the layout designed and agreed with the client. The work included removal of old boiler flues and a replacement timber floor. The rest of the house required some large renovation and we were employed to re-plaster several rooms, sort out water leaks, repair roofs, insulate an external toilet, provide a new cloakroom and decorate throughout. Because the client lived 240 miles away he was not in a position to make visits to check progress and only saw the finished work when we had completed and left site.

In the event the work encompassed much more than just a kitchen replacement.

Hi Ken

We went up to the house, the new kitchen is brilliant and what a difference to the cloakroom.

It exceeded my expectations.

May I take this opportunity to thank you and the workforce for a great job. It was really good to be able to leave you to the work (which was sometimes challenging) and not have to worry or charge up the motorway to sort things out.

Thanks again. I would not have any hesitation in recommending your company.

The order was for a supply and fit kitchen into a 1930’s flat in London which still had the original iron and lead water pipes and lead waste.

The client had purchased a new property that was to be used as a home for his son but required “gutting” and completely refurbishing.  He had contracted a number of local trades to strip the kitchen and bathroom, prepare the plumbing in advance of our arriving on site so that we could just go in and do a quick kitchen fit with the other trades sorting out flooring, plastering, tiling and decoration and installation of the new bathroom.

When we arrived on site the rooms had been stripped but the preparatory work had not been carried out by the plumber who had removed the old kitchen and bathroom and left a number of residual unanticipated problems. He had then accepted that he was not able to resolve the issues nor fit the bathroom. In particular the client had no one available at short notice to carry out the main works and refurbishment in the two rooms that required finishing.

We agreed to resolve the issues and prepare the two rooms, fit the bathroom, re-plaster and tile the floors and walls and assist other works onsite to enable the completion of the work.

The work as frequently happens expanded greatly from that originally quoted for in order to give a complete service..

At the end of January 2009 my son was looking forward to the total refurbishment of the flat he had just bought in North London. Having been unoccupied for years  it was a complete wreck having been the home of an elderly academic who had died some years ago and for whose estate probate had recently been obtained.

The main problems were the kitchen and bathroom which had not been updated since the original construction 75 years ago.  Being the one responsible for getting the work done I visited kitchen planners in the real and virtual world, had the “designers” round to show their nice drawings or animations and was concerned that no person or firm could offer me one individual who could undertake and advise on the overall proposition and give me the confidence to pay 100% in advance for a job the cost of which was a large proportion of our total estimated outlay.

Then I discovered “Fitted Kitchens Direct”.  From a series of long phone calls and very high quality computer graphics Ken was able to give me the assurance that paying his non returnable visit/consultation fee was a worthwhile investment.  And thus it turned out to be.  Corrections were made to measurements, last minute additions to the spec were incorporated and about three weeks later Ken and his son Graham descended on my son`s 577 sq ft to begin.

And then my problems appeared…….not from the Johnsons but from my plumber`s realisation that he was not competent to replumb the bathroom and from my decorators that the plastering and tiling required was way beyond their abilities also.  Into that breech stepped Ken with his engineer`s background solving the very difficult plumbing difficulties and Graham who was as good a plasterer and tiler as he was a kitchen fitter.

In early April my son began the move into his new first time buyer home.

The Johnsons did not do my commissioned and extra jobs on the cheap.  They did them to an extraordinarily high standard for a very fair price. I did not pay 100% up front. So confident were they of the finished article they were quite happy to wait until after completion for the final payment.  I am a very hard person to please whether it be house refurbishment…..this was my fifth…….or the quality of breakfast at a 5* hotel.

Unhesitatingly I would suggest that before anybody agrees on any building work involving any of the usual trades apart from the electrics [my electrician did his job although I daresay if he too had let me down…..] Ken and Graham be given an opportunity to offer their expertise, their honest opinion, their good humour and of course their estimate.

The order was for a supply only of a new kitchen, the main problem being that the supply was to the Isle of Man, outside our normal delivery area. Costs were done for the delivery and they were very expensive. Non the less the client made regular trips to the Liverpool area and it was agreed that the most economic arrangement was for the whole supply including appliances to be delivered to a Manchester address and they would hire a van in the Isle of Man and collect it.

Samples were sent to them and a design agreed by email based upon their dimensioning and various discussions that took place.
An order was placed and everything coordinated to the one drop off point ready for their collection.

The customer fitted the kitchen themselves and did an exceptional job.

Hello Ken

I am just writing to thank you very much for being so helpful and diligent in helping us order our kitchen.
The order was complete when Terry picked it up from Manchester and there was nothing broken and the whole kitchen came together beautifully.

I have attached a few photos so you can see how good it all looks.
Thank you again and we would certainly have no hesitation in recommending your services to anyone who asks.
